Week 5 EOC: Super Bowl Commercial

I really enjoyed watching the Doritos Super Bowl commercials. There were two that caught my eye; the man and the goat, and the daughter, father and his friends. I’ve always enjoyed watching the Doritos commercials because they catch your eye, they’re funny, and most of the time they involve some animal. The Doritos commercial that got the most recognition was the commercial with the man and the goat. It’s been placed into the top 10 commercials from the Super Bowl. “With 174,724 views on YouTube by late afternoon on the eve of Super Bowl Sunday, the video is proving to be a fan favorite.” The great thing about the Doritos commercials is that they hold a contest for the best commercials people can make and whoever wins, gets their commercial aired on TV.
Doritos was this year’s creative MVP for the second year running, as the hilarious “Goat 4 Sale ad earned both the most-liked and most memorable commercial mantles of Super Bowl XLVII. Doritos hasn’t strayed from the winning play it’s employed in the past, crowdsourcing its creative concept for the sixth year in a row. Doritos’ Goat 4 Sale wasn’t the only commercial that captured both the hearts and minds of viewers; in fact, eight of the top 10 most memorable ads also placed among the top 10 most liked” says write Sara Bibel. People like funny, and Doritos displayed the commercial perfectly. The commercial displayed a Dorito obsessed goat and his owner that equally loves Doritos fighting over the bags. The goat constantly eats the bags of Doritos and the owner gets sick of it, so he hides the bags in his room while the goat is on a rampage screaming and destroying the property of the owner. The commercial ends with the goat running into the owner’s room while he is painting a “Goat 4 Sale” sign. It’s simple, but easily catches the attention of others.  “According to the Doritos Web site, 'Goat 4 Sale' ended the voting period with over 1.2 million votes.”
